Loosing my mind... I am a visual "manager," and as long as I remember dress code has allowed me to wear jeans and sneakers. Today my new SM pulled me into the office to talk to me about my appearance, as our SIX figure RVP questioned her about it. We are in the middle of floor moves, which we have to do with limited staffing, and I wore LEVIS jeans and NIKE shoes, and my RVP and SM do not approve. Are you kidding me??
Since when did the company start WORRYING how a $14 an hour employee, moving heavy fixtures full of dust, dresses?? I was told to never wear jeans unless they are black, and to not wear sneakers when we have a visit.
Belk, the company who sent us "private label" merchandise that they bought at wholesale from Aliexpress, with the tags still attached from other brands, is worried about what I am wearing to work... The company who is sending us merchandise with ross tags attached, and brands you only find at TJ MAXX is worried that I wore jeans, which "will prevent customers from knowing you work here."
Meanwhile, it is KNOWN that RVPS and majority of our upper management "leaders," are working from HOME. What a company we work for.
