Since many stores are closed because of the snow or inclement weather, colleagues are not able to work. Is Macy's allowing colleagues who have PTO use it for days they couldn't work. I hope Macy's does the right thing and allow people to use PTO for those who couldn't work due to no fault of their own.

i was paid for the entirety of my shift. check your timecard, there should be a code titled Disaster Leave
If Macy’s wanted to do the the right thing they would pay their employees scheduled to work if they close the store
It kind of sounds like op doesn't work for macys but just in case this was pulled from our store closure policy:
Day 1 & 2 of store closures are unpaid but you can use your pto to cover your shifts
Days 3-5 of a store closure you will be payed for your missed shifts (so if the closure started Sunday starting on Tues - Thursday if you are scheduled on those days you'll get paid for them)
Day 6+ hopefully it doesn't come to this but if you don't have pto to use you'll have to file for unemployment or go unpaid
Macys should be in contact with the affected colleagues check your junk/spam folder if you haven't received anything
If you'd like to view this yourself it's under askhr> search store closure
I asked my sales manager and they weren't sure, I guess they didn't know the policy since they never had to close more than a day or two before.
You can always use PTO for a day your store is closed. Is this something you feel you can’t ask your manager? Weird that you would have to post the question here.
