Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Is it just me or is BBB perfidiously forcing workers to resign?

Signs Your Boss Wants You to Quit

  • You don’t get new, different or challenging assignments anymore.
  • You don’t receive support for your professional growth.
  • Your boss avoids you.
  • Your daily tasks are micromanaged.
  • You’re excluded from meetings and conversations.
  • Your benefits or job title changed.
  • Your boss hides or downplays your accomplishments.
  • You have to document everything you do.
  • Your supervisor blocks your communication with colleagues.
  • The company seems to be making plans that don’t include you.

I copied this list from another site. In my case, there are almost all these signs that indicate that BBB wants me to resign. It is difficult for me to change their attitude towards me, a long-term worker who has always tried my best and gave more to the company than they paid me for. I’m quite sure that I'm not being paranoid about it either. I’m just wondering if this is my individual case or has it been happening to others lately as well?

No I would not be shocked as it does not happen much..again if that was the case people would let themselves get fired to collect

@piy. You would be shocked how many "fired" employees collect unemployment. Being fired does not automatically disqualify you from collecting unemployment in the majority of cases.

Is there a retailer that doesn't do any or all these things? Retail is a great environment to develop a tough skin.

BBBY is not going to go through all of that to have an employee resign. Thats way more work for them then some paperwork. As far as collecting unemployment its much harder to collect when fired. If it was easy to collect when fired many would do it to collect. Imho you are paranoid.

Remember, it's always easier to make employees resign that to fire them because you don't have to do all the paperwork and coaching. Unfortunately it's a fact of life and is used regularly in the workplace by companies.. At least if they fire you you can collect unemployment. Hang in there and do the best you can do. I've been there.

I don't think you used perfidiously in the right context. Anyhow the fact you say you gave more then you got paid for gives a bit of insight into your work personality. And I do think you are being paranoid. If they wanted you gone then you would be gone
