Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Worst company in regards of employment safety

Massive layoffs. Always doing reorgs AIG is big mess. Seniors have a weird attitude here.I’m glad that I’m moving out. No growth here they don’t even increment your pay and even though you give your best , you’ll be treated as a looser.

Just experienced the no increase to base salary after being told....you're one of our top performers...you hit it out of the part this year....we wish we could duplicate you....all words told to me by my manager...and also being told on weekly staff meeting calls that increase to the base salary/cost of living adjustments were coming. My manager didn't have the guts to tell us individually what the compensation adjustment was. There also seem to be mysterious rules as to who gets what raise...rules based on grade level and not HR rules....mysterious rules put in place by IT Sr Management...perhaps to pool money for their friends increases. So take from one to give to the other....based on favoritism and not performance. I've never been more disgusted. If you don't live in the Charlotte enclave, you're screwed not matter what you do.

I love the diversity here. Indians and not much else, at least in IT

I pity the TAPs who actually think AIG is a place to build a career.

Not only do they not give raises, through STI your salary can stay the same for a DECADE. Meaning you’re actually making less each year. Not to mention making yourself a lot less competitive with the market.
