Someone here wrote that they had to train their replacement for a few months in order to get severance. I wonder if this is an individual case or is it the rule?
Regardless of the fact that sharing knowledge and experience is nice, I don’t like it forced onto me as a condition in order to get my severance pay. It wouldn’t surprise me because unfair treatment of workers is not foreign here, but I’d love to hear more detailed insights?

This is true and very 😥 sad
Oh, I forgot to say that that 2 1/2 minute conference call was actually a monotone statement that she read from a sheet of paper, and it was more of a “listen to me” call than a conference call because we weren’t allowed to say anything or even ask a single question. She read it and literally hung up on us. And yes, if we talk about it to anyone - even other employees in the system - we lose our severance and vacation bank payouts. Thus, I’m posting this anonymously. I guess they don’t want bad press. It’s all about that profit. God forbid word leaked out about them terminating just about anyone who isn’t direct patient care and sending our jobs out of the country.
I worked in AP and had to train 2 people. One they flew to our location and one via internet. It lasted 3 months. If I chose not to I would not get a severance package. Our Administrators were kind about it. I would like to think they were just followings corporate orders. Tenet should be ashamed of doing this during a global pandemic especially since the government probably gave them millions in relief.
Yes it’s true. What is the worst thing is that the CFO told us we were being let go with 2 1/2 minute conference call in which she informed us we were being g let go then said “and with that, we’ll bring this meeting to a close” and hung up. Not even a goodbye let alone a thank you for your loyalty, I’m sorry this is happening. Nothing. Then the next day during another conference call in which we were told we have to train our replacements (who are overseas), were told to be friendly with them, take an interest in them and ask them how their day has been, how their weekend was. No one uttered one word of empathy to us but we were told to ask our replacements how their weekend was. It’s disgusting and I feel degraded. We sold our souls to the Devil for 12 weeks of severance pay. Unbelievable
