Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

How can they be so cruel?

After 30 years I was given zero notice. I was invited to a staged meeting and let go by people who had no idea what my job was or what my team even did. I was stripped of all my Pepsi property and escorted to my car by a complete stranger. Not even a text from anyone thanking me for 30 years of dedicated service. After I was terminated PepsiCo said that they thought I wanted to retire. Seriously ????

Just read this post on another thread, still can’t wrap my head around it. This is not just cruel, it’s really mean. Hope the person who wrote it lands on it’s feet.

Yup ... same here. After 28 years of service I was told the management team from my group wanted to attend but they all had other commitments. Our Senior Director had a team meeting the day before and said he was not aware of any more cuts and hoped his team was not impacted. The HR manager told me he had approved my termination a week prior and was well aware I was being terminated. I also took the walk of shame in front of everyone while being escorted out the door. All the hype over values and ethics is just a smoke screen.
