Thread regarding Ricoh layoffs

Getting away from print

IF ricoh is good at anything its keeping everyone but Japan senior management in the dark and being vague about any specific direction. Maybe they should get into the mushroom growing business. I'm not anticipating any big reveal April 1st but the compass direction is certain: Getting away from print. Accounts and MIF will be pushed/sold to dealer and manufacturing will be scaled back and some model engines will be sourced by other manufactures. Pushing base to dealers will also give them ability to leverage increasing supply costs and commitments from dealers.
Shot clock is ticking so they'll wildly increase efforts to "Transformate" (just puked in my mouth) which will be avalanches of even more PR "News" about how ricoh is soooo amazing at things it has questionable real experience and results in. Below for example, they shared award with a company that has 61 employees... and I think the other company should have won outright! At least they seem to have an understandable clear objective for being in business! Has anyone even heard of the Cloud Awards?

For any other clarity visit the xerox page on this site. They're also carving up business units. Since ricoh has been racing to the bottom with xerox and also not really innovating for years these along with recent financial results pretty good indictor of what can be expected in 2021.
