Bed Bath and Beyond employees are being contacted by "HR" requesting that bank routing and account numbers be updated. Company has yet to make announcement or inform employees.

By "standard", I only mean that when someone says they are HR, but it is obvious that they are not HR, but it is not known who they are, then they are referred to as "HR". Putting "HR" in quotes is not an indication of whether the post is fake or not. The most likely scenario is that someone received a phishing scam email.
What's standard? This post is strange..no place is not going to announce a security breach but ask for checking info. I swear I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone reading some of these posts

Happened to me. They told me they needed me to provided it if I wanted to continue direct deposit.
