@1opt sure, why not, especially with the discount. SF has a nice view over Market Street. The restaurants in NY #212 are probably the only place I would spend in the store, the rest is just spectacle.
I can't believe someone would travel to SF or NYC and waste a meal at FLS...
How many stores will be cut? How will a mid size store like Indianapolis fair?
@ayd 427 ... SF ... Market Street, a gorgeous store, I always liked the restaurant, too. In a proposed confederation of 30 FLS, it’s got to survive, right? With all the tech money still around?
But these West Coast cities, Seattle, SF, Portland, are so rotten in the core, it’s frightening to think that any of them could close.

If Nordstrom went to 30 FLS, would a mid-size store like Alderwood make the cut, or is WA left with Bellevue and Seattle? Now imagine the impact on Alderwood, losing this anchor, and probably that moribund Macy’s, too? Pretty soon even this once bustling mall is a ghost town, the Apple Store closes, REI, etc.
Nordstrom has always been selective and is in what was considered prime shopping turf, the “good malls”. Huge deal to consolidate like this.
Haven’t heard of Rack closings, can they do no wrong with their lower cost model? Just a matter of tuning them to the right locations? Always thought the Northgate Rack in the c-appy old Toys-R-Us spot was a great call.
Is Nordstrom happy now with the 3 FCs? Seeing efficiency and faster fulfillment? Utilizing them properly?
