Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Is the worst behind us?

There is very little talk about more layoffs (other than the usual fear mongering) and people at work seem to be in a significantly better mood than they have been for a while. Actually, I don't think the morale has been this up since before the acquisition. Am I wrong to feel optimistic?

The entire Oxy corporate headquarters organization needs a cleansing once enough money is available for severance pay.

Is the worst behind us? This is the oil business... the worst is always both behind and ahead of us.

What is a “coverage manager”? I Googled it but nothing showed up that made sense. Why would an oil company have coverage managers?

Think the worst is behind be a coverage manager. We spend everyday just wanting to know when we get chopped.Does anyone have a time for ending coverage manager positions. Was told October but heard it’s going to be sooner.Need to plan my future.

You're not. Stay positive. This will be reflected in your work.
