Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Why are they doing this?

Why is Walmart cutting hours while at the same time hiring more people because we are short-staffed as it is? At least that's what's been happening at my store. Can anybody explain this to me? What's the point other than making the existing employees angry and looking for a way out?

$15 is not a possibility it will happen. Companies need to learn to pay for their people, Instead of their people spending tax dollars on welfare.

They always cut hours this time of year after the holidays. It’s not as busy. They will pick up again around Easter.

The ones telling the truth get bashed remember that as it takes time to roll out at every store.
People don't like reading the truth because Walmart is not family-oriented.

Exactly what they said !

They hire Part time workers so that they don't have to give benefits. On the flip side if most of the workers came into the work place with OPEN availability ( can work any hour of the day ) they would just abuse the heck out of you. I don't agree with the $15 an hour statement though. Walmart raised their starting pay ahead of time because they had the inside info that was going to happen. They are deep rooted with the amount of $$ they contribute politically they did it ahead of time.

Because the brain damaged mentally challenged mo–ns in the Home Office follow the whims of the shareholders, of which the Walnuts are the majority. You cut hours and therefore don't have to provide benefits. New hires won't get the necessary hours for benefits.

On top of that, Walmart is also preparing for the possibility of $15 an hour minimum wage.
