If you have a job with a busy first quarter, they’ll wait until you get all that work done and then give you your rating so you don’t leave before that.

@1jbv+19g1RjCC summed it up perfectly. Just look at the kind of board Oxy has Vs the professional companies that employ adults.

Not specific to this year, but going back for many years (decades), each employee's rating was decided upon/"locked in" in Q4, prior to any conversation/discussion/feedback with the employee. The "conversations" and self-appraisals are a facade to provide an air of "legitimacy"/fairness to the process. But they don't/won't alter the rating which has already been decided upon, behind closed doors/in secret.

So relax. Nothing visible to the employees in the ratings process is real. Its just a "show". Your – and my – fate has already been decided on.

You will not find much in writing on performance. The first cut of ratings were defined back in early November based on only about 80% of the year’s performance. Make sure goals can be completed by the start of q4 and you should be fine.

This isn't about layoffs and funds to support a payoff
Its about a common business courtesy - All the staff took the time to complete the BS forms
The minimum you would expect form a professional outfit would be some personal feedback even if its just a PIP

I am LAPC and every January your supervisor would review your AIP with you and discuss and agree it before you signed off
With Oxy its a stony silence - f—ing sh– company and sh– management

You don’t understand or aren’t a good manager. Of course you are supposed to identify issues and coach employees on how to to remedy them.

So as a manager you are instructed to put people in buckets. Those employees who are performing poorly and don’t want to help themselves will fall into the lowest bucket. You are then supposed to get rid of them and not even spend any time to help them improve. Does this sound like a people oriented company?

It doesn’t cost anything to lay-off an Oxy person. That is a real crock. Why would a company who cared for their people even acquire a company with a COC like this. mo–ns, just a bunch of mo–ns. It has always been like that. Even 25 years ago.

Sounds brutal but I guess there is no money for layoffs.

They should have notified all low Bar people by now so that they can get the PIP process started.
