Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Have there been any layoffs so far this year?

Is it possible that we've managed to go a full month (plus a few days!) without anybody being cut?

If you are there long enough then everyone will get a turn in the barrel.

If you work for Xerox wait around long enough you will be laid off. That place is a dumpster fire

No one's job is safe. I had a job where I was immensely needed and I still got let go! I run circles around my peers there. I got diagnosed with a disability last year and did the big mistake of letting them know. It's not how hard working or talented or dedicated you are....it's how much you take and allow them to manipulate and stress you. Heaven forbid you speak up because the stress causes health complications! They are heartless especially in HR. Speaks volumes of the HR leader who everyone fears and no one likes.

YES there was layoffs this week at Headquarters and globally. The people were told not to say anything. The company did not meet its financial target. But yet you see them posting jobs! People are doing dual roles even at the top level of company down to the assistants working for 3 to 5 vice presidents with no increases in pay. You would think they would provide more severance and offer at least a full month of benefits during this horrible time. Worse time to do this to people with no advanced warning. Horrible treatment to say the least!

March will be a bad month for IT staff. Those who could not move to North Carolina will be let go. The amount of application knowledge that will disappear should have a material impact on revenue.

My manager just sent out the email about our trainers last day today. He was already planning to retire at some point this year. He told me when we were at an install he doesn't think he will make to his retirement date. Our TRC was just emailing with him yesterday about scheduling stuff. My core is already shorthanded and now we just lost a ton of experience and even more shorthanded. My core is already losing customers in droves Xerox making it really easy. I just need to ride the boat a little bit longer, once I leave their going to collapse. Between no rise, no 401k match, not hiring the staff we need, and relaying too much on HCL just not worth it. Just need a promising growing company to have an opening for me which hopefully is soon.

Maybe? The beginning of a quarter and year is probably not a likely time for big layoffs. But also since the very large action(s) in Aug 2019 it seems like layoffs have been smaller and quiet, but more frequent. It seems like management moved from making large sweeping actions to just hitting small groups here or there periodically maybe to avoid the hoopla around the layoffs that happened during the large actions. I wouldn't be surprised if there have been some actions that have gone under the radar this month because it was a very limited number of people and so many folks are WFH.

To be clear, I have not heard of any so far in 2021 (in Webster), but its hard to get the scoop with on-campus presence being so limited.
