Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Covid Bonus Is A Joke

Why bother!!!
After taxes the $300 is $190.
The Pandemic is worse now than last year and Marvin does less and less for us. There is also less cleaning/sanitizing, carts aren’t cleaned at all!!!
It’s all just a show for the public, media, and Wall Street!

Yeah, you have a point there. Tell ya what, why not give me the $190.00 and complete your thought process.

Hey Marvin, what happened to November and December's hush money?

Does anyone know why this bonus was taxed, but not prior $300 bonuses? I searched online but couldnt find the answer.

Let me begin by saying I am NOT a "Carvin' Marvin" fan nor am I employed by Lowes (an immediate household member is). I agree, Lowes employees are undervalued, overworked and underpaid. At the same time, there are those who have worked the entire pandemic due to being considered “essential workers” that did not receive any bonuses or an hourly wage increase. In my opinion, be grateful for what you did receive - not everyone did. The company I work for didn't offer any incentives and I’m thankful I did not have to battle the unemployment mess in my state.

Covid doesn't matter to Lowe's anymore as if it's over. No signs on our doors about customer's wearing masks. Many customers on a daily basis with out masks and no enforcement to make customers wear mask. Bottom line is Lowe's is more concerned about offending a customer then our health. They throw a couple hundred at us every couple of months so we are supposed to be ok with it.

The company could have given us the Tax money like they did every other time. $400 or more dollars taxed down to $300. But we must be making up for all seven payments by cutting hours and being cheap on this last covid payment. Hopefully they give everyone the full winning together bonus in March.

The fact you are paying taxes on it is not lowe’s fault—that’s Uncle Sam. What they should do is give everyone $300.00 untaxed then force everyone to write a check to the IRS for their own tax that they owe on it.

They have been sending us home at 9:15, no COVID cleaning being done. Saving money is more important.

We risk our necks every day we work. People still refuse to social distance from us and get right in our faces. Some still refuse to wear a mask.

Now we get a “bonus” and they’re taxing it. Unbelievable. The company spends their time saying over and over again how much they value us, but what they do says something else entirely. They support us less and less as they put a banner year into their pockets. Marvin will get an insane amount of money this year for his bonus while he chucks peanuts at us.

It’s like they think we’re too stupid to notice.

$300 taxed down to $190 isn't going to mean squat when your hooked up to a ventilator fighting for your life because of there negligence and ill handling of this virus

Yeah, the signs at the store reading a mask is required is almost laughable. People have no respect getting up in your face without one either. So what, will you get fired for telling someone to back off or get out of your face without a mask??? Sure you will, the customer is always right. Just as long as lowes gets there money its right to them. And then advertise to the media and news about a bonus just for a pr stunt. Why don't you just give a "discretionary" permanent raise instead. But hey, on a real note be thankful for anything they give you....except covid. Because they dont give a damn if you get that or not.
