As if we are not stressing enough already with everything that's been going on, now it seems the managers have decided to take advantage of the situation and start using fear as the only management tool. Now we have to go through constant threats and yelling and so many 'just be lucky you still have a job' snide comments every single day. If this place was bad before, now it's unbearable.

Whoever is feeling this, know you're not alone. It's coming from the top down to field management. in an effort to please the board. With the new zone management structure in place, the company is so ridiculously top heavy with fear-based toxic "leaders" now. The weight from this hail mary attempt is already starting to push the organization further and more rapidly under water and people are looking and jumping for the life boats.
Leading by fear and intimidation in an antiquated tactic to gain results. Hertz really needs to get with the times and start using more humanistic approaches if they are going to survive and thrive.
You will be labled a troule maker if you file a complaint!!!! If you had any future flush it down the toilet! Anonymous complaints go now where! HR will always take the side of management if they cannot put a face to the complaint! If you go to the hotline be ready to disclose who you are and be ready to move on because you will have no future. If anything you and your team needs to start documenting dates times and specific events where management has overstepped. You need to have a united front to take down these losers. Get our stories aligned and have the facts ready. When did they ask you to do something unethical? When did amy abusive and inappropriate conversations happen? If you can record the conversation even better.

It’s sounds like you are a front line employee. Probably dealing with no cars, ignorant locals, and a bunch of mo–ns taking to the sky’s. You should not be treated like this. Call the employee hot line and report these managers.
Who cares about retaliation, try to report it anonymously.
Looks like nothing has changed. Leadership by fear and intimidation has been the profile for years. I was a part of it for a while. Those in the RVP and ZVP roles have it built in their DNA so there is no changing that. As for HR they exist to esnure the well being of the company not the employee. Do not get that confused! So HR will see and hear what is best for the organization. If they want to fire you they will. When they say you are a valued employee and they want to coach you up that means they do not have enough ammunition to fire you. So they keep you around, not to want to help and develp you but they keep you around till they have enough evidence to terminate you. Herts is in big trouble and will not survive. And the issues that will drive them into the ground is not the financial challenges they face it will be the toxic leaders.
Unfortunately the culture of Hertz has been fear based for quite some time.
HR prides itself on turning a blind eye.
How this company has survived all these years is a miracle !
Please do not waste any of your working years with a company that does not follow common labor and ethical laws.
