years ago when several hundred Chesapeake employees were scheduled to receive their walking papers DL thought it would be a good idea to attend a conference in Florence Italy with his wife. The same day good loyal employees are having a terrible day he’s piling up a huge expense report on CHK’s dime. He’s a d*ck. He doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong.

How many nearly bankrupt companies did CHK accumulate during Lawler’s tenure? Wildhorse wasn’t the first catastrophe by acquisition. Far from it.
Lawler and his cronies caused just as many problems with debt as Aubrey and Tom. That they reduced some debt by selling off assets to friends of theirs in sweetheart deals, note the sale of the mid-con to Dixon, is no saving grace. It was the creation of new problems and the generation of losses.
It wasn’t just Chesapeake, nearly 400 publicly traded oil & gas companies declared bankruptcy since 2014 according to Haynes and Boone.
Those bankruptcies have resulted in the elimination of 300 to 400 billion in debt. It’s as if the Federal Government taxed the creditors and put the taxes in the hands of dirtbag debtors (like CHK) who can afford dirtbag lawyers to paper up this redistribution of wealth.
Aren’t these the rednecks constantly complaining about the power of the Federal Government? Why are they now wielding the power of the federal government to cheat their creditors?
Is this the socialism/communism the MAGA folks are complaining about? No, it’s not but it sure looks like a form of socialism to me: redistribution of wealth to folks that can afford $1500/hr lawyers.
