I'm so tired of having to wait so long to find out if I'm going to be out of a job or not. This is not the first time something like this has happened. They announce layoffs and then make us wait for weeks or even months to see who'll be affected. As if we need more things to stress about, especially right now. Just get it over with already and let us move on, one way or another.

Would you prefer to work for a company that surprises you with the news as they walk you out the door?
Wait. Y’all getting fat paychecks???
Shake and bake!
It’s a control thing. Stockholm syndrome will kick in after all is said and done (at least that’s management’s hope) and survivors will be more docile and even lick the boots of those who put them into the abysmal situation in the first place. Control is then easier to exert.

I think most people would rather know sooner rather than later - gives you time to get your finances together and apply for other jobs in the meantime. Plus, you keep collecting a fat paycheck in the meantime.
