One of our DM's come out of a meeting and was talking about some highlights taht were disscussed. One of the topics that came up is our company and store level people need to be focusing more on the customer ect ect. We have daily IRPS's, Downstock list AP and Blue Dot Tasks, Bring down tool boxes task task task. Clean customers messes in hardware asiles and zone is a nightmare. No respect from the people who shop here. The same goes for the hardware department as well or any store Dept. for that matter. WE are expected to do all of these tasks which takes awhile and ties up our time with customers. Our scheduling as we all know is c-ap at best. Barely any workers on the sales floor its hard to juggle this many irons in the fire at once. The end result is the tasks get finished but little customer interaction or the complete reverse. I ask what do you want us to do here? Its either one or the other, both cannot be achieved to its fullest upmost quality and potential. You suffer quality in arae or not the other. This company does not understand this or anything on a store level. They just push sh– and bark orders down the pipe. Rude customers need a reality check "they call the south nice friendly? I think not. Ive lived in the south for 30 yrs guys and let me tell you its gotten alot worse, the attitudes in the last 10 yrs. Entitled southern belles and redneck white trash. Most of their needs and questions they can easily fix themselves al they have to do is have common sense and actually read what they are looking at be aware of their surroundings. In most cases this remedies most issues and keeps a smooth running system. But nope they are entitled pricks who chose not to. "Oh I always thought the south respected people and elders, people in general. No they dont those days are gone. If you noticed after the official boomer generation started to fade their offspring has brought all of this to the table. It has passed through every tom, d–k and harry since. See most people in their 40s 50s 60s 70s and early 80s have passed that true respect that was once a thing. In the 1950's and 60's everything changed and the self entitled brats come to surpass. Whats really sad is the majority of people 40 and younger that come into stores and the public in general are some of the most nicest people. But the older generations still have in their head that its the millennials fault everything is. So my question to you older generation's arent you part of the problem? After all it is your offspring. Its not like the millennials engineered our lives DNA, Daily activates personalities ect to be like what you think is a millennials problem. The entitled older generations have a very skewed idea of the world and people as they see it. Rant Over!

If you walk into any retail operation what you see is what you get. 48 check out stations at walmart and 2 lines with cashiers. Same thing in most grocery stores. The one exception here is costco. Costco is one of the My most well oiled machines I have ever seen and Im a 20 year veteran here in retail. We live in an online world and the staffing on the floors for retail customers is last consideration. Any retail operation now uses boundless energy to eliminate all physical staffing possible and its not just lowes. Walk into a mcdonalds and see how long it takes to get food. 85 to 90 percent of mcdonalds business comes from drive thru so thats the focus not customers in the dining room. My point is retail is retail go anywhere you want all understaffed and if that doesnt work polish the resume.
We’re so under staffed that we can do nothing more than help customers.
All for show. No one cares. NO ONE!
I’m in the south. I haven’t any problems with most boomers. Some are a little impatient and grouchy (but probably Northern transplant retirees). Some GenX are self aggrandizing a–holes. Millennials are mostly respectful, when I can see their faces behind the iPhone. I agree about the tasks vs customer service balance. They aren’t living in reality. Lowe’s Corp always talks out of both sides of their mouths. They are bringing back the 10-2 “Impact Hours”,only to focus on customers, supposedly without tasking. That never lasts. It’s a joke.
Wow....go girl go,Repesct is a old world word in the right year.I sense your feeling and pain..... sorry, I'm from the north, and we got the same here. Called retail and corporate....... people are the same all over the Lowe's world! I'm betting your a great cook.... And give me some off that food.... when I go south!
