I've been at work during a blizzard. All Malls closed, Buses stopped, and PLOWS pulled off the road. They didn't close.

It’s beyond me why in Gods name did they even open the Macy’s at Garden State plaza in NJ, the roads are clear and highways plowed down to the blacktop. It was like a ghost town.. no sales people to be found. The one we finally ran into said most employees called out.. it cost more to turn on the lights than to pay the salespeople..the store is a reck..WHY did they open. Even most of the stores in the mall never opened..

To the poster who passed the comment about corporate....it enrages me this site posts are stores vs corporate. Do you really think if things arent great in stores then it must be great in corporate. Your wrong, they are samr troubles dressed in different clothing...you have bad management so do we, you need to show up in unsafe work conditions so do I. My job requires me to go in..not sit warm and cozy. I dont judge and compare i use this site to relate and help me learn the bigger scope of the company. And what i learned is that its tough all around, disorganized, and very self seeking. So please dont bash corporate employees.

I think that poster was being sarcastic. Who the heck is going to shop at MACY’S during a snow storm or blizzard.

To the poster who commented about Macy's staying open as a courtesy to the community: Did you read your own post? If the schools are closed due to treacherous commuting conditions, why would Macy's want to endanger their workers to show up for work for little foot traffic. In addition, and more importantly, why do you think encouraging families with children to brave the elements and dangerous road conditions to "shop". Especially during a pandemic. Avoid the crowds? It's called safely shopping on line. You know, that other thing that is the future of retail.

You’re open unless the mall closes.

Poster who mentioned the "first thing in the morning" returns, your right about that! We are no longer amazed at the line that forms at AYS the minute we open the doors every morning. It's like it's a race to get it done. Then they leave the building.

Anyone who down voted this is probably from corporate and did so from their warm and toasty home 😂

Macy's stays open as a service to the community. Blizzards are a favorite time for mothers with strollers and/or with kids who have a snow day from school. This year will probably have the customers who want to shop in an empty store and not get COVID.

It said to not come in earlier than 8am
Some people come to work at 5a or 6a and they don't want them to get stuck.
Most likely there will be a closing update in morning if it's a blizzard.
The less people that show up the better

Cause it’s Macy’s.

Well, if we don't open up, how will all those customers be able to make their returns first thing in the morning during a blizzard during a pandemic?

If anything, there will be more snow (and worse driving conditions) at 8am than 7 or 5!
