Hyperbole (/haɪˈpɜːrbəli/, About this soundlisten) (adjective form hyperbolic, About this soundlisten) is the use of exaggeration as a rhetorical device or figure of speech. In rhetoric, it is also sometimes known as auxesis (literally 'growth'). In poetry and oratory, it emphasizes, evokes strong feelings, and creates strong impressions. As a figure of speech, it is usually not meant to be taken literally.[1][2]

Once any of them feel threatened you are done for. The last set of layoffs was filled with players who threatened their bosses positions. Instead of taking the challenge they take the easy road and ship the challengers out. That’s why I am keeping my head down and not saying anything ever that threatens my soup.

He is a creep but the department is full of them. Me being a female in this group is difficult. Kimberly hasn’t helped. None of the managers and supervisors have respect for women.

Why would any quit. Brown nose a little, pretend to work, run pointless reports, remake the same power points you made last year and collect a paycheck. To the moon!

If you are so unhappy then quit. Since all of you posters are superstar know it all’s then finding a job running land for another company should be easy to find

Due diligence is checking title, stuff like that. Nothing to do with how good the area actually is. It’s about making sure that what someone says they have to sell is correct.

Does land not work the due diligence side of things?

“ If MRO does not recognize change is coming, layoffs will be a regular event.” - To whomever wrote that - layoffs have been a regular thing for the past several years.

PR was pushed home by the OK asset team and the then RVP. BD sold Wyoming to get the money to cover PR, but it wasn’t them coming up with the type curves.

Land had no input on the acquisitions of which you speak. PR was passed on by the OK asset team and then the BD group who was looking for a deal brought it back around and sold excom on how great it was. KH and PW didn't even know every other operator in OK had passed on the deal. Same thing for the Permian acquisition. You also have to have some local knowledge to make that rock profitable. You can’t just sick an Aggie on it and hope it will work.

You say that but do you recall our ex-coms vehicles? Call those guys ostriches because they have their heads buried way deep. One dude drives a truck named after a dinosaur.

As far as land goes they are useless. I’ve never set in meetings with other members of a group that are so clueless. Look at these positions they have gotten us into, Permian and Oklahoma are totally a waste of cash.

Maybe we should start actually organizing Marathons? Just a thought.

Hopefully Land are all working on securing wind/solar leasing rights. Biden has made it clear he is transitioning the country to cleaner energy. GM announced last week that by 2035 100% of their cars/trucks will be electric. GM said they will not make the same mistake Kodak made. Let's hope our BODs and Senior Leadership pull their heads out of the sand (I mean shale) and put a plan in place to transition MRO from Oil and Gas to a more diverse energy supplier. They can start with a new name and eliminate "Oil" from it. If MRO does not recognize change is coming, layoffs will be a regular event.
