i quit walmart a month ago. was looking thru the paperwork from store and all i got was a "statement of final payout." on that paper, along with the financials, was written that i was 'terminated' with a termination number and everything. BUT I QUIT. I WASN'T FIRED! did they do they required paperwork? can they say they terminated me when i actually quit?

Nobody thinks anything about a termination from Walmart anymore. Certainly not other potential employers. It is the expected outcome at one point or another. Such a schlock operation.
Ask for severance. File for unemployment if you don't have a job yet.
@cvm To all others as well. If Walmart or any other employer is changing your posted schedule and not telling you and you live in California you can file a formal complaint with the State Labor Board. Sears was notorious for doing this and accusing employees of no shows. The State Labor Board stepped in at the individual stores, fined them, and put an end to it.

Organizations will only provide a start and end date, such as 'start date of XXXX' and a 'separation' date of XXXX. They will not say ' he quit or he was fired.'
Now if someone calls someone off the record , or the every popular 'Would you rehire them' question is a completely different story.
they told me i had to many points, and termination would be eminent. no show/no call in on recent black out days. i showed them my schedule from 'my walmart' app or whatever it's called. days of no-shows, app says not scheduled. mgr says it's my fault for not checking schedule in store...sometimes app and store don't sync properly. with everything going on with walmart i just didn't want to fight it. not worth the effort. however, i want to be sure things say i quit, wasn't terminated.
