I feel awful because I know my store could be closed because the atmosphere is awful and there are fewer and fewer customers. Unfortunately, ordinary workers cannot do anything to save any store. I used to have hope, but I’m losing it rapidly. I still haven’t found any solid alternative, so I’m slowly falling into depression.

They might close tomorrow or next week but the company is going down. GET OUT NOW!!!
There are much more stable companies with great benefits, and more importantly great people- unlike the horribly awful managers at B&N.
I hear REI is a great place to work.
Not your fault, the market will return jobs will come back hang in there and don’t get discouraged
Don’t get depressed. You don’t have health insurance . Get another job. Driving to work today I passed Help Wanted signs on Burger King, Taco Bell, McDonalds and Sam’s Club. Do something to help yourself. Go apply !
There lots of jobs out there.
Restaurants can’t get enough employees. Fast Food paying 15 an hour. Target, Walmart, supermarkets , door dash , grub hub. Jobs ARE out there ! You work at BN, NOTHING should be “ beneath “ you ! And if you look down your nose at these jobs ,deemed Essential, then I don’t feel sorry for you.
