I have an interview regarding UI. I declared the CIP amount on my biweekly forms.
What is the proper definition for this payment; to continue to receive benefits?

Yea, I did't lie on the form either, full benefits. Put down severance, at the time the bonus was unknown. That's everyone that I talked to who was left go. Is someone still having trouble getting benefits and having to lie on a federal form? That's not a good idea, trust me. I know no one in that category or who lied on the form. I think that's a load of BS propagated on this site only.
@3kux, well I didn't and am not about to do your research for you. Google it yourself, numnuts.
Yeah good for you if you happen to lie on the form and make a declaration that you are not receiving a severance or bonus and it slipped by them. who cares anyway, that's on your own conscience and is no one else's business
It is a moot point because everyone has filed by now and is receiving full benefit. I doubt anyone declared severance as it would confuse TWC and risk payment. If someone sneaked past a mistaken declaration, good for them.
Those who declared severance and bonus for UI and got full payment, show how to answer each question on the Payment request form and also show a screen of the actual UI payment. Otherwise you are a bunch of trollers.
yes, don't screw up and lie on the form by putting down that you did not receive the bonus or severance and hoping they don't notice. good point.
You dodged. Bullet if you screwed up and they didn’t notice.
@3loz, 100% correct and that is in accordance with everything that I read. I also applied and receive Unemployment and I honestly put down that I had received a severance. I now enjoy monthly fat Unemployment checks with no problem of any kind, because I was honest on the form. Good luck to all in your applications and thanks for all the great advice!
Wrong, do not mention the Chevron legal payoff nor bonus. They do not relate to ongoing wages in lieu.
The severance that Chevron provides to employees needs to be listed on the application for unemployment compensation for the request to be considered valid. Any deviation, incorrect information, etc., could result in denial of benefits and or fines and penalties. They make that crystal clear in the instructions. I applied for Unemployment, did not lie on the form, indicated the severance, and received my benefits as usual. Can't believe that so many are having trouble with this and are resorting to having to commit criminal acts just for a few bucks of unemployment. I would rather not have a record, but that's just me.
The CIP bonus is not included or disclosed to TWC or in any UI application. They are only interested in regular pay. So, mum is the word on CIP bonus or severance. That’s right, the lump sum pay off that Chevron calls a severance is not the type of severance TWC is questioning or needs to be confused with.
Fake news. The UI doesn't work this way.
I personally know someone who indicated on the online application that they were receiving less income, in the form of a severance that was received and not reported and they ended up having to pay a fine and pay back all monies received from UI benefits. Just a heads up. I really don't care what other people do, not my business. Do what you want.
FYI, unless you are filling dozens of fraudulent applications and making a career out of cheating on UI, they will never bother you. They are over worked and don’t care about small potatoes. Nobody has ever gotten into any trouble with normal UI, regardless of what they put on the state form.
@1arw, If you are suggesting that someone LIE on the UI document, a federal form, I would suggest otherwise. Not a good idea for your career. Thank me later.
I reported it in the box for "If you received this payment due to any other reasons not listed above, explain" as: This is a discretionary bonus for my performance in the year 2020. It took extra few days for them to review and they released the FULL payment. It makes no difference in the payment if reported or not so don't report it to not confuse the overworked TWC people.
Troll: not ever clever
There is no interview and even if there was this is not asked. You are trolling. Have fun!
I claimed it as a bonus for my work in 2020. Better to be honest about it.
