Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Belk’s id--tic email capture policy

Why does belk want to keep asking the same decrepit customers for their email. Don’t they know 80 year old Granny does not even have a computer!

My favorite story involving an e-coupon:

Men's clerk is ringing a purchase and the customer presents their phone with an c-coupon on the screen which, no surprise to us who worked at belk, excluded the item the customer wanted.

When the customer complained that the coupon didn't mention any exclusion, the clerk then, as a trained reflex, says, "Nope. It says so on the back!" and proceeds to flip the phone over, only to be immediately and amusedly embarrassed that it was, in fact, just a phone and not the traditional paper coupon with 500,000 exclusions and terms on the back!

Oh, what a laugh we had!

That blah blah about phasing out circulars in favor of e-mails has been heard now....drum beats...for some 15 years now.
Maybe they're selling them? !!!

Our store mgr says they're phasing out mailers and stuff. it's going to be on the customers to have the app with the coupons and not the cashiers to scan the barcodes at the register. Whatever the reason, getting emails from Belk is annoying . I don't even care how many Belk rewards dollars they send me. Stay out of my inbox.

After having worked at Belk, I always try to make sure an STM/ASM is nearby when I say no to my email or phone number being captured. Sort of a dagger thru their heart.
