Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

No presence of Xerox in Asia next week onwards?

Withe the end of Fujifilm - Xerox JV in Asia (under the brand Fuji Xerox), from April 1st, and no sign of Xerox in any part of Fuji Xerox marketing territory. Is it Xerox strategy to let go a big slice of FX revenue from here on?

Let's face it.... other than Xerox iGen, all other products are either obsolete, not saleable or OEM from FX. Without the relationship with FX, the cost of all their products from OEM's are just too costly. I really don't see a path forward for Xerox other than to break down the company and start selling them out in pieces. Probably Xerox's name will still be retained for one of the small pieces and Xerox likely to have nothing to do with the printing business thereafter.

I can’t wait for FX to enter US market. With all the outsourcing anything manufactured under the Xerox name will be junk.

The Japanese are unbelievable! It's just past midnight (13 minutes past midnight) and in Japan, it's April 1, 2021. And you can immediately see all sales information with Fuji Xerox are now Fujifilm Business Innovation. You can find Fujifilm Business Innovation paper, toner, ink cartridges, etc., on the web right at this time. They sure planned well and executed well!

Spot on, last poster! Seems Carl has similar characteristics to his mate the former US president. One would hope that stock market analysts wouldn’t be chasing squirrels very long before seeing the game that’s been played on them, but they keep trusting. Larger problem with society enabling or tolerating this behavior, in my view.

Carl used this as a logical sounding reason to get his way with board seats, which has a hint of sense to it. Why not be locked out of the growing Chinese market? But like most things from him it is very shallow business school ideas, which in practice end up being dumb moves. First, if you knew anything about the company you are taking over you'd review the product portfolio and realize what severing from FX would do. Carl can't be bothered, needs a quick buck by fooling investors. Then like an ADD riddled child, he never follows through on this plan, and moves on to the next line of BS to pump the stock more (tech powerhouse, project own it, stand up businesses, 3D, software, and on and on). He will never deliver any real business results, which everyone can see from quarterly data, just more money for himself. In nature parasites serve a purpose, and Carl's is to leech off a host until it dies. So expect the FX move to be a disaster and more layoffs.

Fuji Film as a Japanese businesses is in it for the long haul, very strategic and long term. Not like US Xerox that is stock and quarterly driven or tactical thinkers (does anyone at the top "think anymore"?). Also if a Japanese company is planning on showing up - you won't see a pre-announcement. When they do appear they arrive with a well thought out and well funded business plan.
