Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

My recent Visit to Macys

I wanted to get out and walk but still too cold out so i went to 3 different macys and this is what i saw.
A: nobody was working in the store and the store looked like a total mess. it reminded me of sears at the end or radio shack.
B: one store the entire parking lot looked like it as a missile testing site for the New A bomb . potholes everywhere within 1 foot of each other and my car felt like it was gonna get s—ed into a sink hole .
C: associates looked completely drained and uninterested and all standing around doing nothing. Managers complaining there is no help.
D: lack of inventory. it looked more like goodwill than a classy department store of the past. TJmax looks cleaner .
E: clothing looks outdated ,worn, disheveled , and usually shoes has new "popping" styles and had the old worn out c-ap from years ago.. sad

as i left i couldn't believe how bad it has gotten .. I also don't have a reason to shop at this sweatshop anymore..

It's not just in the Midwest, I work in Utah and five years ago Macy's had seven stores in the state and by the end of summer we will have two left. The company stopped investing in smaller stores and the lack of cheap maintenance investments like paint and carpet makes our stores look just like other retailers that have gone out of business in the past.

I remember a lady and daughter asking to try on a dress, during pandemic. Before I could tell them the dressing room policy, I look at the dress she’s holding and realize that style of dress has been there for FIVE YEARS. And you have people that look like they’d like bland clothes complain about the bland clothes. Do they not listen to customer feedback? No, they just blame it on the store the customer shops at and downvote their manic score. HEY CORPORATE-stop blaming your poor decisions on people making minimum wage. They can’t fix it, only you can.

Laid-off in June 2020. Haven't been in any of the three doors near me. You must be desperate.

macys stores in the midwest are so run down and out of date the company has no stratgey on store image. simply google macys in troy look at macys summerset collection the only grade A store in michigan. and then look at macys oakland mall it could be two different companies. but it's not just oakland nearly all of the midwest macys are out of date. and once macys shuts down the state street store in chicago it will be game over for macys midwest.

The dumps around here are truly disgusting. The one that is decent is in an abandoned mall. It can't have much of a future.
