Any thoughts on the specifics of the newly declared and effective immediately ET system moratorium?

One of the most recognized brands in the U.S.
Brand is great. Full of outcome oriented leaders delivering best in class solutions. Bravo
Hopefully this moratorium on tech will give them time to stop the layering of data entry across all their new systems creating tons of extra work, and many new failure points.
Also maybe they could get rid of several new systems that are effectively just there for data entry and do nothing to aid in the job, but create extra work and of course, failure points in the claim.
I could write a 30 page thesis highlighting all the incredibly poorly designed and coded systems we use, with the original being ECS. Since the IT drive a few years ago, its just piled on poorly designed stuff that layers ontop of other systems, doesn't connect with ECS, and forces me to duplicate and sometimes triplicate data entry...all for no claim benefit.
IMO would be money better spent to dich programmers who likely dont want to work for a stodgy insurance company anyway, and just outsource it all to salesforce or similar company that employs UI design and process flow specialist.
I cannot stress enough how difficult all this pointless tech and pointless systems make my job.
Just an example of what I use that's poorly designed and adds work rather than make me more efficient:
3pet - lots of failure points, I have to tell it the liability anyway, and its settlments are always poorly suggested
Chip - great for losing claims, but not the worst tech on the list
Litigation Details- want to waste another hr typing up your suit details? great youll be doing it a 3rd time for the suit letter to defense attny...useful for super rare complicated suits but everything else its just a huge time waste.
Template search (too hard to code just one search bar?)
IOT (anyone whos used this on the phone knows how fun it is to check another area)
ECS in general but thats old news
Forms and corr's - this needs to die and fast.
Jabber vs queue manager for calls, why do i have two conflicting call systems again? Yeah love accidentally clicking a phone number in claim trying to copy paste and now queue manager is dialing out.
Juggling verint and T2 for time off....why not add a 3rd system that I need to fill out while were at it.
Theres so much more too....
All of these items need a fresh rework and need to stop being a weight on handlers shoulders.
How is the et brand today?
Custome facing IT. Anything under the paper clip king or also commonly referred to as staples 2.0.
For those in other departments, what is “CX” that people keep referencing?
Wow
Once you all leave your job can be outsourced.
Yet another ET director left or “retired”. Watch out those closest to the barnfire under CX are leaving in anticipation of a storm.
Repeat after me. fawahd is da gahd
ET will be off shored to India.
I love me a good Zombie thread.
A car with 3 wheels…one one top. Two windshields and a boatload of cupholders. It will have been assembled on time though. That is what counts. Right. And those responsible —- promoted or moving on to another company.
It is going to be …not good. Takes me back to when nobody is listening to IT. People are screaming but it is getting dampened down to meet an exec date
When will we get actual It knowledgeable senior exec over mod efforts. Engineers are laughing at how inept the delivery will be.
Does anybody know if "they" actually even tried to failover to Olathe? Or was failover attempted and it wasn't successful? Seems to me that EDD's big claim to fame was enhanced availability because of data replication, failover capacity, etc. present at both Richardson and Olathe.
1 thing stands out with ET at SF is the number of pudcasters . With the dirth of communications regarding the outage and moratorium it is as if the goading verboises pudcasters acting like exec wannabes have s—ed up the bandwidth , I’d rather hear from mgmt moratorium details than all the puds casting about there topic of the week on virtual meetings
Moratorium has been been not been communicated very well. I want tonhave confidence in the improvements
7tjv. Potential clue for you, read the post immediately before! That is why you are JV and not var-sity
7jdv.....WTF are you talking about?????? Who are you responding to?????? What Planet are you on????
Wonder if some in the various anilyck roles would be forced into doing real work?! Think again for many too attached to the title and too pattern abusing and snobby to be of any good doing that work. They can dish it but can’t take it
Sounds like some other non-developer roles might be getting downsized then to home-grow our own developers.? Maybe some jabbin joes coal mineers are coming in? Make me Laff!
Now ET is promoting their own
Home made development program for anyone interested. What happened to top talent lol.
U tube ot. Anyone can learn.
Outsource the development. Leaders have been saying for years we dont have the software dev talent in blono.
We have a good digital app though
Reducing technical debt means bringing in third parties and integrations which brings along a lot of integrity issues and customer and employee data privacy issues. But it’s pretty much what Industry has done.
Good experiment bringing in senior exec with minimal IT knowledge. I think we should “Iterate” and solve that due to lack of quality delivery. Possibly bring back the leaders that fled.
When you get a moment look up Taj Mahal.
Jobs are already being outsourced so if you don't think they are then you are not seeing the writing on the wall.
There are already people from India working for State Farm and that is a fact
Whoever made or participated in the decision to take out the Test simulation environment made a terrible decision and ridiculous
What’s the deal? Did bunch of people in ET quit? Some ET exec get fired? They paused all the changes and enhancements
Finally found it. Makes sense, but should have been done earlier. Every time we hear there will be updates to ECRM, we can expect major glitches or even complete shutdown.
This is just saying “let’s get the foundation and ground floor stable before we add the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th stories”.
Who went to USAA. I see we just got a good one from Allstate
Bad systems decisions an d money changing hands and technocrats acting like hero’s
SF had a process in place to review ET Changes and it was disbanded because it provided no value. We had a system (ROSG) that simulated the current environment to TEST changes and it was also removed. Nothing new just stupid decisions by the Execs to save nickels by wasting dollars!! Old dogs tried to keep this in place but the new execs sure this would work NOT!!
It's not about outsourcing, it's about stabilizing the software and hardware system SF has as they keep crashing. it's finally been noticed on top that it's an issue.
Which provisions in the tax code are referring to? Lol. This is likely asking a monkey to recite Shakespeare. Actually bet on the monkey.💀💀
Just wait until they come after the tax advantages of mutual insurance companies to raise revenue to pay for the long list of social programs, it’s all fun and games untill your ox gets gored. You beaches will be crying the loudest.
I see the article on the moratorium but it does not reference outsourcing. Is there an announcement on this pending and is it a result of the outage we are going this route?
Happy 4th of July! Hey, I thought the topic was about the moratorium and everybody’s politics.
You mean the one who left SF for USAA?
