Time to bring the pain. Let's do this.
For once, in 20 years living this life, I look in on the outside. With my raise, and my fantastic bonus, I very much look inwards as to what GM means by professional grade. Their finances, seem to disagree.
May your paychecks bless you accordingly.
yes 1500 laid off next Tuesday
American executives cost way more than foreign executives too. Polls always show a majority of people would like to join a union.
Actually, the 90% of America that is nonunion have a poor opinion on all unions. Certainly not all, but many put more effort into avoiding work and hiding than earning their money. Take a stroll through any building at the Warren Tech Center. You can’t go ten feet without seeing an hourly person wasting time. Overtime is expected and demanded as normal, not to benefit the company in any way. When overtime is cut, things get even slower. It’s like watching five year olds that don’t get their way.
White collareds at GM hate the union because they can't stand the people they feel are inferior making money and getting vacation. The real engineers and assemblers are in the same boat but pettyness means that engineers will never have the power of the union unless the union has less power. (Rather than gainimg power for themselves through organizing, etc.)
Let me correct your comment, as long as GM keeps profits and Wall Street above everything else, there will be layoffs
As long as American union workers at the Big 3 cost way more than everyone else onshore, never mind offshore, there's going to be more layoffs.
More precisely, are we expecting anything in March?
