I’ve noticed that there are a lot of talented young people here who think they’re not good enough. That’s not true and I don’t know where that lack of confidence comes from? They are simply afraid to leave, most likely because they are humiliated, criticized, little valued, etc. here all the time.
It’s a horrible manipulative relationship that this company has been practicing for a long time, because they can’t keep the best people any other way. I wish I wasn’t right.

You are, unfortunately, completely right. I was hired with enough experience to know better - but they try it even with me.

It works something like this - 1) assign you a boatload of work that needs to be done. 2) meetings (aka tiger teams, or guild meetings) are setup that you aren't invited to (you need to be a Hitachi lifer or very close to that) where design decisions are made regarding the work you are assigned to, regardless of how far along in the work you are. 3) if you do exactly what they tell you, those other people will get a pat on the back and reward themselves. If not, you'll be assigned c-appier work next time.

If they hand you a broken design, you are free to fix it but they'll still get all the recognition.

If you complain at all, you're told - you're just not good enough.

And well over time it gets better but then I get a new manager every 6 months and the process starts over.

This company is the most political, emotionally draining company I've ever seen. My family keeps telling me to quit before it completely breaks me mentally

One simple answer to your question: the management team scr3wed these talented young people up by telling them they are not good enough! Everyone in this company is manager, and they expect other talented young people here to do the sh!t work for these so called "manager" claimed the credits and keep their j0bs!
