Has anyone received their severance pay yet from Macy’s??? I got screwed over and wasn’t paid out my vacation pay. I was told they were only paying what you had available for the month of February (which was nothing). apparently the vacation pay we just banked at the beginning of the new fiscal year didn’t fully belong to us and wouldn’t be paid out. I guess that’s all part of the magic of Macy’s !

Your PTO is based on years with company. However, as someone stated, the fiscal year ends in January. So if you were offered a severance package in February, you didn't earn anything. Although it seems you have so many days of PTO to use when the new fiscal year begins, you still have to earn them as the year goes along.
That would explain why, if someone used all their PTO by say October and they leave the company in November, they would have to pay back the days they didn't actually earn for the remainder of the fiscal year.
It’s always been like that. The fiscal year ends at the end of January. You didn’t actually earn any vacation time if you separated from the company in February. Therefore you were not screwed over!
