3M just let go of their entire Corporate Research Lab staff in both China and Japan. 100+ researchers and technical managers let go. The staff that leaves will enable at least a dozen competitors just from inside knowledge alone.

Funny how the first comment is the typical incompetent 3M way of thinking. These are incredibly intelligent and talented people they fired. If anyone thinks they didnt accomplish anything, it's due to poor management and business decisions. This group will do well at their next company and 3M will be sitting at zero to negative growth for the next 5 years in the region, again. Congrats.

The competitors won't gain much as these bunch of people didn't generate sufficient growth for the company.. Thats why they were made redundant.
