Is this my case only or do others also feel that too many expectations are placed in front of them? My manager is literally driving me crazy because he always wants better, faster, more, which is not realistic at all.
Then I am constantly the target of criticism. I am getting criticized for almost everything I do now, which I had done before without any major problems. It simply occurred to me to give up this job and walk out on my own.

S— it up folks... ALL companies are expecting more with less. It is not specific to Macys.
Also, dont believe the “fake news”. No one gets cut because their salary is too high. They are simply not performing.
What i notice is when massive cuts are coming A: they start raggin on you hardcore for everything
B: they switch out store managers to get a new one in so there is no relationship there..
C: they try to hit you with that customer complaint line which is not true.. they may even follow up with a fake email sent in with your name on it..Most likey written by the AP team to get you out
We are covering ourselves. Red badge here
Now it is cut throat time. Is the Store manager asking you yet if your manager talked To you about X Y Z? Following up with sales associates asking them if they were coached do you know your goals today etc...
This has to do with trying to get a paper trail
to get rid of salaried execs.
On a personal note most red badges truly care about their people beyond the 4 walls of Macy’s. We know you are doing all your can, we know you are tired and stressed we know your asking for credit cards, We have known some of you for years on end...We feel horrible and most of us are sick over it.
We are not trying to add to what you go through each day.
I’m blessed in the way that my team has known me for years and before I even open my mouth they say “We know it’s not you”
There is definitely more on everyone's plate, especially with less employees around. The sales and support teams are the back bone of the stores, that's what makes a store run, the managers are there to make sure everyone is doing their job and support as much as possible. However, with so much on the managers, I'm sure they are exhausted, they are pushed to get the most out of the employees. But there are still those employees that don't do much, so leaves more for the others. True you can only take so much and you have to communicate that with your manager in a respectful way. If you have good relationship with manager, they will hear you out.
Thank you for the posts. I left Macy’s. Hang in there! I loved working at Macy’s, however, when I felt unappreciated, disrespected, undervalued and p. treated poorly, I dusted off my resume and found a new job. Remember... “Bitterness is how we punish ourselves for other people’s sins”. I was with Macy’s 5.8 Years.
Setting the stage for the up coming cuts. They need to make a weak link to have a record of you ( in their eyes ) not doing well. Just walk out. Who cares about that sweat shop
** and finally the heat comes down to sales associates I found that giving your manager a little push back and reminding them that you're doing your best and that although I get they too are just taking orders from their boss they need to be more realistic and then usually my manager will leave me alone people only pick on you as much as you let them
Yeah I've noticed that too! My guess is it's trickling down from corporate > the store manager > our mana
