Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Time For Legacy Husky Managers to let go and let the integration happen!!!!

I'm glad I got out early. The legacy managers of Husky have made it terrible. Work Load increased by 3 fold. Constant threats of layoffs. old Husky Policies still being pushed out. I hope for the people left that some of the managers that have been micro managing people to death will be getting a package. The people left havent even had a chance to see the integration as of yet. Goodbye micro managers. I wish the ones left all the best. May the managers get the package!

@nyq+19NbK6KU please explain to me what math equation you're using to determine that the more money husky lost, the more money the 'owners' received? in what way does that even remotely make sense? that entire statement has many vague contradictory statements in one. People are upvoting it cause they don't even understand what's being said but it sounds nice...

They’re not bashing Husky employees they are trashing husky managers that we don’t need and that are now pushing Husky policies on CVE employees. Still watching Husky branded presentations, they can’t even bother trying to pretend that they work for CVE.

I’m a CVE employee and I have found the HSE managers to be just fine and fair. Everyone is doing the best they can.

Please stop the HSE employee bashing. I’m sure they could do just the same with CVE employees, but notice how they have more class and don’t post on this site like you guys are.

There was no fear at all when I was with Husky. 20 years in, no direct reports, just do my job and cruise towards retirement. The fear became reality when Cenovus took over. Just finally starting to get back on my feet from my Jan 27 release date. What kind of heartless, gutless company tells you to sit in front of your computer and wait for a phone call? All the stress and anxiety has since left me and started a new job just recently. I wish all the best to my former HUSKY colleagues, and will be watching this debacle very closely. Would love to see the big C crash and burn.

There is a reason Husky's share price always lingered behind the rest of the TSX.. 70% privately owned by offshore interests, it was almost encouraged for Managers to make the company lose money . The more money Husky lost, the richer their owners got. Husky was the loss leader for the owners. It will be interesting to see how they are going to make money owning 18% of Cenovus. The opportunities for them just aren't there anymore. I bet they divest their position as soon as they can get a good deal to do so.

I can't get over the inefficiency and waste I've seen on the legacy husky side. No wonder we bought them out. I thought Cenovus was bad sometimes and now I see how really fast and lean we truly are.

Speaking as a CVE person from what I can tell all Husky knows how to do is report, report, report. Useless metrics so far down in the weeds that it shows me they don’t know what their job actually is or they just don’t know how to lead people. Good job Alex on bringing over more useless management.

Fear seems to be the Husky mentality to keep people in line.
