When I was on the west coast. Before I got hired there. I would walk in their store and it gave me a funeral parlor vibe. Fake smiles hand folded in front. Offering condolences. It seemed fake perfect. I eventually got a job there. Everyone seemed frozen and fake. I moved around. But ultimately met up with a fake cold manager who fired me. But there wasn’t much warmth there. Lots of fake cold smiles. That’s about it.

There were lots of Debbie downers too. Like 70% of the store! When I meant fake smiles I meant fake smiling to other employees then gossiping and stabbing them in the back. My manager was one of them. That’s nit human it’s straight up rude!!
It may suck but the fake smile is a requirement at all retailers. Tell me a retailer where you don’t get greeted with fake smiles. No employee is gonna greet you with a genuine smile 24/7. We’re all human. And as customers, no one wants to be helped by Debbie Downer. When you work retail, putting on the happy mask for customers is part of the deal.
Sadly the company has no diversity. Spoiled white mean girls and B–chy queens. The company has gone downhill. I get more respect from the straight construction workers that work across the street. The mean girls and b–chy queens got along well!
Beachside I actually liked my first team. They recruited me. Let me guess. Your a b–chyQueen. I’m g– im allowed to say that. Sadly the company is full of b–chy Queens like you!
So basically it didn't impress you at all, but yet you filled out an application and then accepted an offer of employment.
We once had an event where Jeffery came to speak. There were black curtains behind him on the stage and 2 flower of big white floral arrangements on each side. My coworker whispered “ it looks like a funeral”
We are all walking-dead with one foot in the grave now thanks to COVID-19. Pray for the employees who are still trying to survive the domino-effect of stores closing once the Nordstrom Leases are up!! Only the strong will survive online. The rest will be 6-feet under.

Another response from someone who works for Nordstrom. Probably my sick narcissistic ex manager. I’m Kool aid free now
No returns on funeral related items. Someone didn’t die, it’s your problem now
Funeral business was up with deaths and so it’s a business. Designer coffins?
We had one manager. She always looked like she was going to a funeral or a wedding. Not a good look.
I mean you have to admit the brothers and corporate all look like funeral directors. Just saying
Oh and always lots of flowers for events and such. Very Funeral palorish. And the people leaving the beauty Dept all had so much make up
On they looked like they stepped out of a coffin. Scary!
