I have a feeling that cuts in Nordstrom Alterations are coming soon. Macys just got rid of their tailor shops / alterations in almost all of their stores. Nice service to offer customers but it just never has / never will make money.
I would like someone to tell me that this will not happen. The situation in Alterations is bad, but if there should be layoffs, I hope at least it won’t be very soon?

Most of all white managers in Nordstrom are stuck up. They don’t like to help their employees anyway. They live in a bubble, they think they’re too good to help out. Giggling in the back room full of dust, never wanna come out to the sales floor.
My old manager used to make fun of the Asian people in alterations. He’s young white and privileged. They were the nicest hardest working people in the store! Meanwhile he’s on his way to becoming a regional manager one day.

I know a few years ago there was a push to solicit business for the alterations departments via social media. The message was that Nordstrom alterations department could handle all of your alterations needs. The alterations departments at larger stores were set up with unique phone numbers so they could be contacted directly.
People can gain weight or lose & fit in.
Alterations are one of the big things that would draw customers to a store, innit?
