Hey guys, how do you deal with anxiety? It seems to me that it is harder for me to bear the expectation of whether I will be next on the RA list than it would be for me to bear the actual RA. I’ve never been more anxious and can barely concentrate on work. I lost motivation especially when I heard that they fired some great experts I knew.

Not sure what's worse: being blindsided by an RA, or seeing it all around and waiting for it to happen to you. I was RA'd last year, and I completely agree with @1cnz. Follow the steps listed, take the reins of your career and you might just be pleasantly surprised, which will take the edge off the anxiety.
That's a sign. What if you don't make it (heart attack) to enjoy the retirement you are working so hard for right now.
The real answer to peace of mind is... financial independence.
(Assuming one has one's health, etc.)
Hi HR.

and CBD oil.
- Get a CV tune-up. If you have not maintained an external quality CV for many years I would suggest using a professional service to get it up to date.
- Update your Linkedin profile to match item #1.
- Update Linked to tell recruiters your looking.
- Get and give recommendations in Linkedin.
- Network, network, network. Colleagues who were RAed, or those that just left on their own, clients or former clients, classmates from college, etc. Get the word out - your looking for a new role.
I did all these things about two years before the actual RA hit in 2019. This resulted in some interviews - even when not intensely looking. It provided a sense of calm, of control. Accept that is not if you get RAed, its when.
Time to get the f— out
You should not agonize over things you cannot control. Focus on finding a job outside of IBM.
Sad state of affairs when individual contributors and team leads care more about the company than any “leaders” do.
I went to a stabilization center to deal with anxiety. They told me if a didn’t stop letting IBM abuse me I would take my life. When they continued to press for more to be done and did away with my bonus so the execs could put a big commission check in their pocket, I left the “s$&t show “ called IBM.
Hey guys, how do you deal with anxiety?
The bottle.
amen OP - I am superstressed too
Get off your behind and do something about it! Take control of your own destiny and don’t let IBM control it
"how do you deal with anxiety?" That's real simple - I eliminate the source of that anxiety. Works on irritating bosses, irritating (ex) spouses, irritating employers, etc.
Life is just too damn short to put up with it. Your blood pressure and heartrate will thank you.
get your resume cleaned up... and go out and apply... don't wait around. Just today I had a headhunter call me and ask if I knew of folks with skills for 5 jobs he was looking to fill in my sector. That is the 5th that has called me in the past few weeks.
