Have the layoffs started? Does anyone have info to share? Someone here has rumored earlier that it will start on March 8, while some groups will be cut on the 15th?
I wish I had some updates. Despite the fact that I can’t wait to get out of here, the uncertainty creates tremendous tension.

The secrecy and the delay in the layoffs into March is a tactic by HR . The more you suffer, the more you will be ready to sign off on your package without even questioning it. The more torture they can inflict on your mental health, the quicker they can hire their connected friends and let you go into the streets during a global pandemic.
Let us have voluntary packages. If people don’t want to be here let them go. You can redeploy others to fill the roles. Fact is Cenovus leadership are scared to death of how many people would leave and it would be a big vote on their abilities. A big no vote.
Unfortunately the layoffs have zero to do with the price of oil. The real issue is that the two companies "apparently" have overlaps of positions/duties now that they are one company overall. So there ya go.
With the oil price going up perhaps there's an opportunity to delay these layoffs?
Many Husky employees have been going out on stress leave indefinitely in last month or two.. It really affect your mental health these uncertain times.. I hope these employees are ok my heart goes out to them..
I agree , lotsa tension, stay cool lets see what happens.....whatever happens , keep your mental health at the top of the priority list - I know that`s a way out there comment, however your important so stay cool! I mean at the end of the day they cant kick us out of Canada , right.....myself I just want to know what the hells going on!!
