So we are told that by this summer, Belk will be Centralizing the Registers to be upfront, similar to Kohl’s......anyone else hear this?

They have made such massive cuts in Loss Prevention and this will just make it easier for the shoplifters.
You have 3 registers??!!! we still only have 1 open.
Yes cosmetics register is one of the only 3 open in our store. Cosmetic associates can't help any of their clients because of checking out customers from ladies mens lingerie jewelry and shoes.
I work in rock hill it has already happened here about the registers.we have tents set up for sale and exercise equipment for sale.wtf?
Makes sense EXCEPT for Beauty Dept is typically in the front of most stores? To have all customers b-lining to check out in Beauty means Beauty associates could not spend the time they need to with their clients to develop those relationships and regimes.

omg, with some stores not having loss prevention it's likely the customers who come to steal will enjoy this greatly.
This should of been done couple of years ago! Customers will know exactly where to check out instead of walking helplessly from corner to corner and let their frustration out on an innocent salesperson they finally found. Hopefully it will allow to get merchandisers back on the floor to make whatever we sell looking good. Organized floor will help fulfillment too. Good from any aspect.
YEP! Customers ain't gonna like that. They get upset now when 1 register is closed. But you know who hasn't seen that coming?
Something Belk last tried implementing a decade or so ago.
Interestingly, the customers balked at the set-up.
