Can we still have unpaid days off?

Depends on your manager. I used to take them but my current manager frowns n it.
Call in Lowe’s don’t care about you at all! Lowe’s is one of those typical very Un-American jobs. They only promote chair sniffers and brown nosers at a lower rate of pay for the same position someone was making more for.
I schedule unpaid days thru Kronos all the time
Probably 4 a month
Some times management does not approve
Them but usually they do
I was told by my supervisor that I couldn't use the unpaid day, because we are needed at work. Truth or not
