Lowes has too many asms and department supervisors that are a waste of money. Some are awesome and do a great job but others are the laziest do nothing pices of work you will ever see. FT associates that are not a specialist should be ok. Way to many salaried asms and department supervisors that contribute nothing to customer service should go.
Yes, The full time positions are getting the axe, that's why they have been hiring PT people in the slow season, you are training your replacements. Remember that this is all part of a short term strategy to increase stock price until the activist investors decide to take their profits and move on to the next company to destroy. This company is not being run for long term growth.
Hearing that marching orders have gone out from Joe McFarland to the market directors—either your stores make budgets or you will be called out by NAME on the weekly conference call with the DM’s to explain your specific business plan to get up to plan, and they can’t bs around it. Must be specific action plan with coordinated follow-up. The downward pressure on the stores is going to be immense, especially with the stock price slipping right now.
After employee expenses are down to the bare minimum. store closing will be next. Why have 5 store in a 10 mile radius if 1 store can handle the cross docks at less payroll
Wouldn’t surprise me one bit. They won’t comp last year’s insane numbers so expense elimination through slashing payroll is the only way to satisfy the Wall Street analysts.
My store has already dropped two managers so far this year. Neither quit but both were reassigned to other stores.
