So now that our king has declared COVID-19 essentially wiped out Oxy work from home people should go back to work. No masks required. No social distancing required either. This governor is such an id–t and didn’t learn his lesson from last year where he opened things up too soon. Texas, good for business but bad for your health.

The company needs to reorganize the entire organization, including technical functions. There are still too many people doing busy work that is not aligned with the company going forward. The key is to add value with everything you and your employees do. This does not necessarily mean layoffs.
The Oxy HR folks who post BS, deliver personal attacks on posters here, or report the posts on here that accurately describe the facts of working at Oxy are low-lifes, and should be at least trying to do something constructive for the company for once.
These low-life HR folks are like worms. Not the garden variety earthworm, but more like tape worms. I think we need to start all over in HR, and instead of laying off technical people next time, lets layoff all these HR people,
This site is where ex employees come to vent. Most eventually move on with their lives, but a few, like the previous poster, refuse to move on. They blame their job loss on people they don’t know.
There’s a strong correlation between WTI and the anger and bitterness of their attacks.
You must be new on layoffs.com, and really naïve. Personal attacks are pretty common here and especially for incompetent people like VH and HR. Don't like the music, turn the channel...
The problem is that the governor is sending the wrong message to the vulnerable people. Affluent people are going to use good sense and do not need the state telling them what to do. The poorer masses( blue collar red necks) need the law to control the situation. These people essentially do what they want as long as law enforcement is not looking or there is no law against it. I kid you not. That is the way they think. Also, statistically the people of color will be impacted more as a subculture than the others. Abbott doesn't give a sh– about the people of Texas.
@2mxs+19GUglmK, I will agree and as a "business" then the state should continue to enforce on its offices, state buildings etc mandatory masks. It is only two months left if that to have vaccines available to everyone

He never said not to wear a mask. They are leaving it up to the businesses and big govt is not needed. Everywhere I go most everyone are still wearing mask. I do the same and don't need to be told by govt. Look how Oxy is handling it as a business. They set their own rules and that is just fine because they are my employer, and they have been one of the best if not the best at WFH since this all started. All it takes is for us to be responsible.
Abbot is following the orange one to match the same level of sh– show in TX. Your personal freedom/choice should not jeopardize with public health. Rest of the world is following mask guidelines as requirement and we are retrogressing for political reason and to please dim wits.

Just heard on the business news that Elizabeth Warren is floating the idea of taxing people that are WFH. Seems she thinks that WFH is a luxury and employees spending less to go to work have more to tax. Add that in with an employer decrease in pay for WFH and that might drive a few of us back in the office.

So why did Lord Abbott declare that we can be back to 100% in Texas and people like you cannot get the vaccine. He is irresponsible and should be removed from office for putting the people at risk.
I am waiting for the vaccine and then I will give the office a try if they let us. I have put in at three places for the shots and no call back yet. Hopefully they will learn how to get shots in arms.
So why does the Oxy workforce not want to go back to work. Those scared should stay home and cease to be employed by this company.
