I listened to all sorts of stories about this company but I thought people were exaggerating. I’ve only been here a few months as a part timer but it’s already become clear to me. I admire the people who have endured working here for many years. They had to have a lot of patience.
I accepted a part-time job to make extra money, however, it’s really not worth it. So little for so much stress, not worth it. If only I could get enough hours, I might have stayed, but since I didn’t... there are still a lot better options. Fortunately.

Just be aware that as part-time at Lowe's in my state,, you are guaranteed ZERO hours per week.

My friend works is in a union for a big shipping company. He said they track the number of boxes each employee moves per hour. If you are frequently on the bottom of the list, he said they just don’t schedule you. They don’t fire you, but enough days without work, people get the hint and find other work. Unfortunately, lowe’s doesn’t track what anybody does. They just appear to arbitrarily pick people they don’t schedule.
Just be aware that as part-time at Lowe's in my state,, you are guaranteed ZERO hours per week. One part-timer in my Department was getting one 5 hour day per week...and then a reason was found (made up) to get rid of him and he was fired. Has not been replaced, I guess five hours a week was more than Marvin could afford.
Bet you Niblock is saying do you miss me now.
The sad thing is it wasn't all that long ago that this was a good company to work for
Your story is unfortunate but not at all that uncommon. Thank you for even trying. I have part-time staff in my own department that have been with Lowe's for over 3 years that are only being scheduled 12-16 hours a week yet we keep hearing on the intercom that "Lowe's is hiring". Just be thankful you got out before you potentially wasted weeks/months/years figuring out that Lowe's doesn't care about you as a person.
