Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Raises and labor costs

I can see why people are mad. It isn’t fair that bakery, deli, stockers, and online grocery got raises and the front end / service desk did not. I don’t think people are per say mad at their coworkers they are mad at Walmart because they didn’t get a raise. But I heard that every dept will be getting a raise including the front end eventually. They are staggering the raises. How much of a raise? Who knows I doubt it will be as significant as bakery, deli, or ogp.

Am I the only one who is glad to not get a raise, and I wish there weren’t any, because I’m sure this company would find a lot of creative solutions to cut labor costs somewhere else?

They are going to cut positions and hours regardless. They have eliminated tons of jobs from COs to Dept mangers to cutting cashiers where there is one or two cashiers a day. They will continue to cut labor and hours where they can because GREED. Less labor more money for top elites. But who knows may backfire on them tons of customers so mad they are leaving their full shopping carts and walking out. Meijer is coming into town near by maybe our shoppers will go there and Target.
