@2wpp+19ECEy0u, Photo Estimate is generic term describing different types of virtual estimates. Vehicle owners submit photos via an phone app is Pocket Estimate, shop submit photos to field AEA is Virtual Orginal Estimate, Shops submit photos supple is Vsupp, claims department sending photos to third party vendor to write estimate is Snap Sheet, rural area shops sending photos is Estimate Assist. Lot of different ways to complete "photos estimate"

Is SnapSheet what we are calling photo estimate now? Just got told to watch a 2 min video about "photo estimate" with no explanation about what it is.

It will take over a large portion of the aea work, except for field/proximity, who will handle the problem claims . Snap sheet is already in place and running. All they have to do is push a button and vsupp and pocket are gone...... and hundreds of aea’s jobs unneeded.

Not sure about if snapsheet is the end BUT the artificial intelligence programs will have an affect. I just wonder when the hubs open back up are they going to tell many of the proximity aeas that hub or bye bye.....feel like pocket and vsupp people for sure...

Snap Sheet are written very loosely, and not following SF estimatics guidelines. However, Snap Sheet is a tool that the injury department use to obtain estimates quickly for settlement, or compliance purpose.

Seems like the era of the professional estimator has gone the way of the Dodo bird. Now we just want someone to sit in an office, look at poorly taken photos, say it is or is not related and push it back to claims to have the discussion. Professional claim reps were the first victims of this process. There was a time when we actually adjusted claims, sometimes it involved judgment, experience and negotiating. Now we say yes or no depending on what the SPC says without thought or questioning it. I would say this tool is just another nail in the coffin for estimatics.
