Is There Life for Belk After Banktuptcy?

Is there life for Belk post-bankruptcy? Analysts think maybe not. Three things must happen for them to be successful. They need a rapid influx of customers into department stores, thus reversing the reversing declining demand . They will need to close underperforming locations. They have too many stores concentrated in the same areas. Lastly, they need an identity. A strong reason for people to want to shop there. They should go strong with "Modern Southern Style" .. Will these things happen? If not, the new investors coujd quickly tire of their investment making no returns. What do you think? Let's wait and see.

Take a long look at Sears, and that's your likely future. We are down from thousands of stores to 28 total stores left open ... for now. My guess is there will be zero Sears stores before long. Department stores are dying off, unfortunately.
