Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

If there is a layoff or isn’t chew on this

I took the layoff and loving life. I am making way more money than I did at GE with a lot less drama. Yes the GE culture is way different in the real world. But the real corporate world is just as greedy as GE they want everything for nothing.

You see GE’s culture puts out the perception that is cares and listens. The Same with the BS union but in hindsight no one really does, not one job, company or corporation or union. Do you really think some elected officials in an office in Ohio cares? They are making bank off your dues. They all (union, corporate and companies) smile agree blow smoke up your rear then stab you in the back!

That’s what America jobs comes down to these days. High healthcare, low wages no Covid hazard pay. It’s a joke! Some states even have a rule that a company can let you go for no reason. Now how Un-American is that? They are all fake!

In the end it’s all pointless and was stressed about for nothing.

Around 20 years ago I put in for an open position at a GE location that is now, no more. For whatever reason almost a year later I received a letter in the mail informing me that I wasn't selected. I had already know this was probably the case for a while and had moved on. I kept that letter because as regretful as one might think it would be to receive such a letter, it was the best thing to ever happen to me!! By the time I received that letter, I was doing way better than I would have if I had been offered and accepted the position. Some of the best things you can ever hear are "I'm sorry but you weren't selected" or "I'm sorry but we have to let you go". That letter reminds me that great news can be wrapped up in a rejection. Take it for what it's worth.
