I’m glad for all the people who managed to find a job after being laid off in January but I wasn’t that lucky.
On the other hand, I’m also a little anxious when I see people here assuring me that the grass is a lot greener outside of Cenovus.
I have a feeling that I am the only one who has failed to find any work. I sent countless applications, but to no avail. Admittedly, maybe I could have found something but I didn’t really want to accept much worse options than I had here.

After 20+ years of hunger games in this industry it seems like Holistica may give me another chance to be myself again. Not a bad thing after all
Prayer might help, but more seriously think about going back to school or getting training or experience in a new industry. There are jobs out there if you are willing adapt.
If not, maybe now is the time to start a new business if it's something you've considered.
Plenty of places are thriving. Try not to get discouraged.
You are in for a surprise.
There are jobs in Calgary. Temp jobs loading and unloading trucks. Part time only jobs at retailers. Supervising pizza cooks and delivery drivers. This is the new Calgary Economy. Part time jobs at minimum wage, 1000 people applying for each new job listing.
You Husky/Cenovus office job is never coming back. I wish you all luck and the help of God. Let us all pray together. ...What else can you do?
Megan what is the link to your internet performance site?
One month today. Sounds like you need to chill out.
With the state of the Alberta economy if you think you can find your dream job in one month you are delusional. I was let go in 2016, I moved and changed industries, still took 4 months and overall the economy was better back then.
Where are you now?
Job hunting like hundreds of others!
Competing with literally hundreds for every posting worth responding too!
Agreed , I definitely took a pay cut with my new job ,also switching industries that's going to be expected, but there's a lot less stress that goes with it, and way way less bull sh–, hands down the best thing that ever could have happened
I was Legacy Husky. Single mom. My routine now is to drop my kids off at school before returning home. I'm an internet performer.
Honestly, you need to lower your standards. There's nothing wrong with working service jobs.
I doubt that 50% of people will find a permanent jobs within the next 12 months.
