BUs are overrated, over-compensated, understaffed, and full of highly promoted, young and outsider people, who have been unable to drive strategic business or gain or retain market share since the BU re-org. They have been unable to efficiently use the factories.

Business units were created with the sole purpose of cajoling customers. Yes they step on each other's toes but that's–tthe point. The guys who run them are essentially lobbyists and fixers who (were supposed to) bring in orders using their connections in the industry. They aren't efficient at that, though
