Thread regarding Belk layoffs

KKR Is Trouble

KKR, now a part owner of Belk, is major trouble. Research KKR and Toys R Us to learn more. They are just as bad as Sycamore, if not worse. As good as it is that Belk was saved, the future looks bleak. Let's hope they have a winning plan to survive and not have their earnings drained by private equity. Let's also hope that the combined forces of KKR and Sycamore do not slash and burn this company into oblivion.

Best Buy announces 5,000 layoffs along with a "to be determined" number of store closures.
Victoria's Secret announced several dozen store closures.

Belk, without a branding identity, aged & ill maintained stores, antiquated technology, closed access to new vendor sourcing and so many more issues all point to a crash landing for the firm. Whether sooner or later? Does it matter at this stage of the game?
