I admit that I may not be the best worker, but the company had a lot of data on my previous experience when it hired me. They knew what my previous work experience was and my resume was very objective. Now it turns out that for the position I’m in, they’re looking for someone who has more experience. Complaints are coming. I feel awful, but on the other hand I didn’t hire myself here and it’s not my fault. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Sounds like you’re not a good worker and they gave you a chance anyway. Unfortunately for them you screwed it up. Be a good worker. It’s not that hard.
I wish I knew what Dept your in.
We had a older lady hired for tools and she
Listened, googled customer question before and after they left.
She learned tools with our help and was great for 5 yrs. then health caused her to quit
Also listen and talk to customers
They can teach you
Good luck
You must have got that department manager position and are willing to take minimum wage for the position .All you can do is learn as you go and hope they don’t eat you alive
It’s never about how much experience you have it’s about how much less you’re willing to take an hour to handle all the stress
I don't know why you feel bad, you passed the background check, you passed the d–g test and the mgmt who interviewed you felt you were a safe bet.
If you were clear with them and made you the job offer its THEIR problem. If they begin to mistreat you call corporate, it's what the ethics point line is for. As long as you passed the new hire/temp/90 day status and you are making a genuine effort to do the job the best you can, it's their responsibility to make sure you are trained to Lowe's standards, if they don't make it a point to ring or email corporate.
All else fails use it as an opportunity to continue to update your resume while you are searching LinkedIn
I hate to tell you this but you just went to work for the most f* up company in the world good luck
That's par for the course I have seen this over and over. Lowes hire for one department and the person ends up as a cashier or loader/buggy jockey. They will keep moving you around. I have been at over 12yrs. That's what they have always done
